Sartaj responds by remarking on the unpredictable nature of madness in that place and jests about Jasmin’s cooking mishap with the kababs. Naaz wears a knowing smile. Sartaj teases her, asking if she came for him, Ekam, or both. She questions whether he cares about her feelings. Ekam retorts, accusing her of not caring about his feelings. Sartaj suggests that perhaps she confides in him instead of Ekam. Ekam issues an ultimatum, demanding answers to his questions or else Nehmat should become engaged to Sartaj. He takes Harleen with him. Nehmat asks why they decided to jump down. Sartaj nonchalantly replies, “Nothing.” Harleen scolds Ekam for his impulsive act and questions if he ever considers his well-being. Sartaj dismisses the drama, explaining that he didn’t get bored of his life to end it. He knew about the mattresses and jumped with that knowledge.
