The scene opens with Khushi taking Ranbir’s hand as they exit the car. Ranbir remarks on her action, expressing a desire for her to always hold his hand and not let go. Khushi assures him that she will never leave his side and beckons him to follow her. The two proceed to purchase ice cream, with Akshay and Prachi also appearing on the scene. Akshay offers Prachi some ice cream, but she declines the offer. Ranbir then affectionately refers to Khushi as his “little daughter” and warns her that if she cries, her tears may cause her ice cream to melt. Akshay urges Prachi to join them, suggesting an alternative treat if she is not in the mood for ice cream. Prachi reluctantly agrees, but reminds Akshay that she is still upset with him.
Rhea speaks highly of Khushi, calling her a pure and lovely child, and Pallavi agrees, remarking that it’s a miracle they have a chance to relive moments with her. Rhea expresses her desire to tell Prachi about Khushi and how her heart aches for her when she sees the child. However, she remembers Ranbir’s promise not to reveal the truth and feels sorry for going against it. Despite this, Rhea tries calling Prachi to share the news but fails to reach her.
Meanwhile, Prachi and Akshay are near an ice cream stall, and Khushi runs off to get a balloon. Akshay asks Prachi to answer Rhea’s call, but Prachi declines and decides to speak to her later. As Khushi runs around with the balloon, Ranbir drives up, and Khushi jumps into his car. Shahana and Dadi arrive shortly after but don’t see Khushi and Ranbir as the car drives away. Prachi receives a call from Akshay, who says that his father is unwell and leaves with Dadi and Shahana to the police station.
At the station, Prachi discusses the possibility of telling Ranbir the truth and trusting him to help with Khushi. Dadi asks if Prachi truly trusts Ranbir, and Prachi responds that she does but doesn’t want to burden him with the truth just yet. As they speak, an inspector informs them that whoever kidnapped Khushi will be caught soon as they have distributed her photo.
Ranbir halts his car upon seeing the police checking vehicles. Khushi inquires about the reason for the inspection, and Ranbir explains that it is sometimes for catching bad people. Khushi expresses concern that the police may discover that she has run away from the orphanage, but Ranbir assures her that it is unlikely to happen so soon. Khushi decides to hide in the backseat and confidently claims to be skilled at hiding. The constable approaches Ranbir and requests that he rolls down the window. Ranbir queries the reason for the inspection, and the constable responds that a girl has gone missing. He then asks Ranbir to open the decky, which he does, and the constable searches it before allowing him to proceed. As Ranbir is leaving, the constable questions him about the balloons in his possession. Ranbir explains that they are for his daughter who is waiting at home. The constable waves him on, remarking that there is no reason for a father to kidnap a girl.
Later, a woman apologizes to Prachi upon arriving at the police station. Prachi compliments the woman’s character and mentions that she did not implicate her. The woman praises Meera and shares that she had wanted to find a good home for Khushi. Prachi asserts that she is Khushi’s mother and requests that the woman reveal who else has claimed to be the child’s biological parent. The woman hesitates, citing confidentiality concerns. Shahana and Dadi urge her to divulge the information, and Prachi implores her to share, stating that it is necessary. The woman reveals that the claimant is Ranbir Kohli, whose home they had previously visited in search of Khushi. Prachi is taken aback.
