The story begins with Anjana telling Vikrant to go with Lakshmi and buy a ring for their engagement. Vikrant says he will go after finishing his work. Anjana agrees with his decision. Neelam talks to Pandit Badrinath on the phone and tells him that she can’t meet him at home. She says she will be ready when he arrives. Neelam only hopes that Lakshmi will leave Rishi’s life forever.
Vikrant calls Neelam and asks for her permission to take Lakshmi out to buy the engagement ring. Neelam agrees to his request.
Vikrant calls Lakshmi and asks her to come with him to buy an engagement ring. Lakshmi says she needs to talk to the elders in the house. Vikrant tells her that he already got permission from Neelam and urges Lakshmi to come with him. Lakshmi looks at the engagement ring that Rishi gave her and is wearing on her finger. Eventually, she agrees to go with Vikrant.
Karishma sees Lakshmi wearing her Mangalsutra (sacred necklace) and the engagement ring. Karishma takes Lakshmi in front of a mirror and asks her to look at herself. Lakshmi doesn’t see anything wrong, but Karishma reminds her that she is divorced and shouldn’t wear Rishi’s Mangalsutra and the engagement ring. Karishma asks Lakshmi to take them off. Lakshmi agrees and removes the engagement ring, thinking about Rishi while doing so. Karishma also asks her to remove the Mangalsutra, but Lakshmi hesitates. While Karishma answers a phone call, Lakshmi tries to take off her Mangalsutra.
Karishma answers a call from Anjana. She tells Anjana that she knows why she called and assures her that she is ensuring Lakshmi removes her Mangalsutra and engagement ring. Rishi overhears Karishma’s conversation with Anjana and thinks that Lakshmi should have taken off the Mangalsutra a long time ago. Rishi decides to talk to Lakshmi.
Lakshmi remembers the moments she spent with Rishi. She recalls Karishma’s words about her not having the right to wear the Mangalsutra anymore. Rishi sees Lakshmi taking off the Mangalsutra and crying by herself. Rishi hides from Lakshmi and leaves the area.
Lakshmi thinks she hears someone. Rishi bumps into Ayush. Ayush notices that Rishi looks sad and gives him a hug, asking what happened. Rishi tries to brush it off and leave, but Ayush stops him and insists on knowing what happened. Rishi tells Ayush how much it hurt him when Lakshmi took off her Mangalsutra. He explains that he’s feeling indescribable pain and doesn’t know how to express it. Ayush tells Rishi that he finally realized today that he loves Lakshmi. Upon hearing this, Rishi walks away. Ayush promises himself that he will prove to Rishi how much he loves Lakshmi and that Rishi can’t bear to see her marrying someone else.
